My LR3 came with some sort of phone charger that's attached under the roof of the center console lid. can i make that work for an iphone? or is it just useless garbage? if it is i want to take it out.

if it's anything like the ones on the RRS, then don't bother. it's supposed to fit the docking cradle for really old nokia phones. you'd have to rework the iphone to interface with the MOST electronics to get audio through the vehicle so most have just opted to settle for just powering the phone/ipod. at that point, it's just easier to tap into a live power line instead.

Yup, its garbage. The new LR4 now has USB conections available which are the way to go. You can plug a data stick full of MP3 music and play directly off of it. I want an LR4 :)

it would be cool if i could just charge my phone on it. i have bluetooth in the car and it works great. even syncs my contacts and i can voice dial. but i could just buy a car charger for alot less work and cost. i think ill try to take apart the center console and get rid of it. i want to buy the ARB center console fridge anyway. it can be hooked up for solar power too. id just mount it to the roof rack (when i get it).
