This looks like it could be a lot of fun and a good way to get our club in the spotlight...

I would love to check this out! We could always couple this with a Lost Coast trip?

Just saw this; looks like a fun volunteer event. Site says:

Three types of volunteers are needed, experienced amateur radio operators, experienced rally workers, and new rally workers eager to learn.

Local radio and car clubs are making the Mendocino Rally an official club activity, and experienced rally workers from Southern California have committed to captain the various worker teams.

All volunteer workers will receive a Mendocino Rally tee shirt, a barbecue dinner, one of the best spectator seats in motor sports, and a chance to be part of Northern California rally history.

In addition to me and Sasquatch, anyone else interested?

I was going to asking the same thing (he! he!); anyone know Mendocino Brewery or any local brewery; hook me up to your contact and I can help pitch sponsorship!

I know of a local brewery in Belmont, Ca (Devils' Canyon). They are very community oriented. It couldn't hurt to ask. Maybe get them to sponsor the annual event at HH this year? Or, another event? Let me know what everyone thinks and I will do some snooping around :D

Hey Josh, that would great! Perhaps have to have a sample of their beer, and maybe meet you and finally get the fog lights to you if still interested. Lol. Thanks Josh for thinking about the club.

Still looking into the Brewery sponsor. The contact I need to get a hold of is illusive! I'll keep trying!

Ron,
Yeah, I am still interested. Maybe one day. I will at least try to make it out to the Annual Event if not the MORG next month!
It's been too long!

WEll, I say we look them up. I know we will now add them to the wines we will purchase. Bear, do you work right off Diablo/680? Your LR3 have a rack on the roof? I keep thinking that is your car around the office here.

So, I finally got a hold of my Brewery sponsor contact. They aren't doing any sponsors right now. They said to try us next event. we'll see...

So, is anyone going to participate? I would lOVE to go. If someone has a spare seat, I could help with gas/food money as I don't have HAM yet. Or, I do have CB in my rig. Don't know if that is an option. Let me know!

Jim Robinson (event mgr) and I talked, and he wants our club to be involved next year; will send us the invites early on so we can plan w/the event. Let's do this in 2012.

Hi guys, I didn't see much reference to this year's Ralley trip. Did it make the cut? I'd love to support this event on behalf of the club if we are planning to do so. Ron, I'll send you a PM as well.

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks for the reminder Tom.

I sent Jim Robison an email early Jan this year but he said the date has not been set; checked out their site today and the date has been set for Aug 3 & 4; I updated our event calendar for poss NCLR club members to volunteer as course monitor (need your Land Rover and Ham Radio) and also non-lic (work at the start of the course); waiting for Jim to get back to me. If it works out, should be a fun event: http://mendocinorally.com/index.html
