Thank you to Aquatic AV for donating to our 2014 Annual Event Raffle! One pair of Waterproof Marine Grade Speakers will be up for grabs...

Cool. Do they work under muddy water (no, not the blues musician, the type found after the Truck Challenge at Hollister) ? .... Erin, I don't think you were in the club then, but my RRC was up to the license plate in muddy water .... Lucas still has the pics ....

Was that the first time you pulled Graeme or the fifth? Didn't he go back in with the truck to make sure his licence plate wasn't in the mud..... Or was he just going to get really stuck?

Good times!

Sure were. And that time we drove home .... For reference, it had 32" tires at the time and a 2" lift.

Regards,

Graeme

Water Rover is Graemes new logo on the hood. It's ocean blue color fits the scene.

So I see a pattern with "Katrina" and this RRC.

This is a donation from my personal collection. It's a magazine style book with 34 pages of photos with some accompanying text (which is in German I believe) that covers the CT up to 1989 Amazon. There are some great shots in this rare book, including the 2 page spread you see below. Comes with a protective slip cover as well.

Valued at $50

Good times!

That's about a foot deeper than what we went through at White Rock Lake when we turned one road too early... we forded it but steam from the water hitting the exhaust created moisture in the distributor cap and paralyzed the engine until I could get it dried out. They don't make that mating point between the cap and distributor very robust against condensation; or maybe I have an o-ring or seal missing? ::amazed::

I don't know about the Rover V8, but most disty caps I've dealt with don't have an O-ring or even a gasket. Some have a cork gasket sort of built-in to the cap, but that's about the extent of it as far as I can remember.

At least it's an easy fix.

Some have a piece of bicycle inner tube stretched over the join where the cap sits on the body ....

Graeme is right... Rover used to sell a "waterproofing kit" that was a rubber glove-thingy that went over the dist. cap and part of the wires on Series rigs.

The best water-proofing is a diesel with a high exhaust and high axle breathers. Other than that, drive slow.
