Hi,

After the oil change on LR3 it is a pain to reset the service indicator or oil change interval reset on LR3. No manual procedure on 06 model.

Anyone know or have any suggestions, online i found Can Mate SRT which is around $135 dollars. It is really annoying for a oil reset on this, its not a rocket science. I do not know what the engineers at LR are thinking that time.

If i go for a oil change outside, most places people are not familiar with these trucks and they get pissed off to do a oil change and at the end they say they do not have equipment to reset oil reminder. The only reason i go to them is for reset and when they say they don't, that is most --------. Believe it or not my first and second review on Yelp is only about service places :).

I am writing this out of -----, wasting time, money and messing up truck in their hands. Any other suggestions for service reset devices or i will go ahead with CanMate SRT.

Not sure if it will do what you need, but I have an Autel AL19 that I use for computer stuff on the DII.

Surely the IIDTool can handle this, no?

That is what i saw online on most Land Rover forums. Can Mate SRT(Service Reset Tool). But $140 bucks for just doing that sounds stupid :).

I've never used one, but a quick search on the internet turned this up:

http://www.disco3.co...ol_Common_Tasks

First 'common task' they list is 'Reset Service Interval Indicator'.

I've got a can mate - I think paid less on ebay - works as advertised. Or just leave the reminder on - it goes away after start up anyway. Not sure if one of the slightly more expensive odb2 readers can do this - like the terrafirma ? Maybe worth emailing them to ask. I haven't needed a more expensive diagnostic tool yet ....

Not cheap, but the GAP IId tool still remains my go-to computer tool for these vehicles.  You can certainly get generic code readers for much less but they are FAR less capable.  You can also get more expensive tools that might do more, but again at a higher cost.

And it takes up very little space in the glove compartment  :)

I am a big fan of Black Box's Devices.  I just called them the other day and got the EAS Kicker for a friend.  You save a lot of $ by getting it direct from them and it comes via DHL Express.

Figure out what you want and then call them.  If you call them after Midnight Pacific Time they should be open.  They have upgrades and such that the don't have up on their web site but it is money well spent versus getting it from one of their distributors.

It would be interesting to compare some of the BBS products to the GAP product both in price and performance. They have a solid reputation but I don't think they allow control of the EAS the way GAP does.
