If you do use a grinding wheel, I'd suggest covering the surrounding area with blue masking tape to protect the paint.

Sign me up to stand around, point and provide commentary if someone is picking up the tab on dinner and drinks ;-)

Good call A, Hinge, rattle can and some experienced /willing hands. It's just the end (side?) of the hinge that will be visible and given the savings over having a body shop tool up to color match it, I think a trip to the rattle can isle for something close or satin black and you're good to go...and I'm one of those guys Jared talked about....sorta ;-)

I'm happy to help.

Of course, let's all be cognizant of what we're saying:  we're going to a beer garden, where the beer will be on the inside of the beer garden and we will be on the outside of the beer garden.

It's like putting a bowl of dog food in a window in front of a starving mutt.

Then again, Alyson probably wants the door installed straight, so maybe the beer needs to stay inside...

For my role, I'll stand on the picnic table and look over the fence... beer in hand ;-)

10-4 on the blue tape - I have it on-hand as well.

Alyson, be sure you paint the part a day or two before the install.  You want the paint to be well-cured before we bolt it up.

I ordered the paint, but it might not be here in time.  They said they take 3-5 days to manufacture and shipping is an additional 3-5 days...

Cancelled the paint order and getting if from Pedram's contact.

Getting paint from Pedram's contact.  Will have the paint on Saturday and the part on Tuesday.  I'll start painting Tuesday night since I need to prime it and then a couple coats of color plus clear coat.

Thanks everyone for all of your comments and encouragement!

I better go check!

Bent, actually started as a childhood name. My friend called me Brent (he's the only one to do so), and his little brother could only say Bent. My mom and sister were the only ones who used it when I was growing up. Then I met my g/f and when she heard it, it became my name again, only this time it was among all the freaks and Burners of SF

So if Bent would be your middle name would your first name be "Gett" and last name "Dover"?
