I have been playing with the IID tool since I got one shipped to me a week or so ago. The GAP team was able to release some new firmware since I reported to them that the new version would not let you load the NAV ON MOVE firmware to unlock the navigation controls while moving the vehicle (otherwise you cannot input new addresses or configure settings, which is super annoying if you're on a long trip with a codriver).

Well I did the flash today of the NAV system and had no issues, BUT my nav remains locked when I move the truck. What gives? Anyone implemented this on the disco 3's?

I have emailed GAP as well with this issue so hopefully I'll find out sooner or later. Chime in other IID tool users if you've done the flash.

It should work on yours (I'm told).

"Pre 2010 vehicles: The Nav On Move (destination entry while on the move by the passenger) enabling procedure is available. Not available for 2010 and up vehicles."

(cut and paste from BellAutoServices website).

Sad that they are now distributing through Terrafirma not Britpart.

Regards,

Graeme

I figured it out. Manual says to check what version your nav system is using. So even though I did a successful reflash procedure I have version 1030 which requires me to find NAV discs from 07 or later for the unlock to work. Anyone happen to have discs I can borrow by some stroke of luck?!

In the meantime, have you tried the 1791 code?

huh, enter that instead of the 731 on the nav keypad? Have not. What is it?

do a search for LR3 and 1791. for the RRS, there's a diagnostic menu that's accessible by a hidden button. using the 1791 code, you can enable nav on the go, but you have to redo it every time you start the vehicle. this was later disabled by upgrading to later navigation DVDs. not sure when this was disabled for LR3.

Did some digging. Too bad you have to do it every time the computer goes to sleep. As I understand it, the GAP software flash makes it possible to upgrade the NAV discs AND have the unlocked NAV. I'm hunting for an 07 DVD now, I'm one model version away from having the unlocked firmware work.

Thanks for the option though, may work in a pinch!

Exactly. I've stayed on the original 2006 DVD that came with just to keep the back door but the guys at GAP let this old beta tester upgrade to the new BT tool so I can keep it if I get a new DVD. Unfortunately, the latest disc is 2012!? So hoping for a new disc.

And this is why I have an Android tablet stuck on top of the dash....

OK, I really have it for trail nav, but google works soooo much better than the LR nav it's not even funny.

Agreed . I did have good luck running the "breadcrumbs" feature in the off road nav while out at Lost Coast. Not that it was needed, a neat trick though.

Ok old thread I know but I recently (like today) quit my job at HERE who makes the navigation discs and was able to score gratis the latest DVD. I did the upgrade plus nav on the move and it worked fine. You can borrow my disc if needed.

Phil. Answered my prayers. Never got around to finding a disc. Where are you located?
