I also posted this on the LR forums, but I know we've got quite a few 3's on here too.

Anyone with a 3 and an IID tool, can you do me a favor?

I have been running some numbers recently both before and after fitting a safari snorkel (the original idea was to check airflow), and my MAF readings come back between 4.5-4.7 g/s at idle (~800rpm?). Side note: air flow seems to be unchanged.

If convenient, can you guys throw up some live value numbers for me? I typically test after a drive >30min, sitting at idle right before I kill the engine and go inside the house.

Example:
(64F temps outside)
MAF: 4.7 g/s
Intake temp: 64.4F
Engine oil temp: 169.2F
Engine coolant temp: 194.0

D3.uk in their IID tool faq mentions the idle reading:

"Mass air flow g/s - Typical value at idle of 16g/s" (IIDTool Live Values - DISCO3.CO.UK Knowledge Base) So my number is WAY off if theirs is correct for NAS spec engines.

Just wondering if MAF needs a clean or worse.

Well, cleaning the MAF is quick and easy so if you have any doubts go ahead and do it.

I won't have a chance to get to my truck until the weekend but will probably be able to pull some numbers then if you still need the data.

If you do get a chance I'd appreciate it. Interested to know what a nearby truck (similar conditions) is getting. I have patrick from gap's data from the other day but he was logging below freezing temps! Says my numbers are reasonable though.

I'll try to get it; I have a bunch of work to do to it on Saturday and now I'm running off to Portland on Sunday to pick up that RRC.  I won't get back until early Monday morning depending on how well it drives and how long I can stay awake.

no worries, especially given your driveshaft issues. Logged a nice 2 hr run from SJ to home so I should have more than enough data. Watching the outputs while driving I got the sense that I had good airflow and MAF was functioning OK. Take a look maybe after shaver if you've got your 3's problems worked out... that alone beats any bad MAF...
