So it's about that time of year again. Keanan was asking me if there was any info on Shaver yet so he could book off Vacation time. Alas, no threads of discussion that I could see. How about we get that ball rolling?

I'll put a date on the table this weekend and get it started.  We have a BoD meeting Saturday so will nail it down then.

I like President's day - I believe that's what we did last year.  Only negative is potentially more traffic on the trail.

Is it usually just a bald mountain run? Are there any other cool trails up there open in the winter?

iTS the only ohv trail open during the winter in the area. Theres a road to the right of Rock Creek rd but it has some steep sections that would be hard in deep snow.

Yeah, we just need to get out there earlier so we dont get stuck behind a group of yahoos like last year.

Hey - I tried for earlier!  Nobody would get out of bed!

Not only do you beat the traffic, but the snow is firmer so you can make better progress.  Once it gets soft and slushy it becomes a stuck-fest.
