Comparing ease of repairs and maintenance on Land Rovers seems like pretty futile endeavor

It's OK, I generally think 1>3 too.  At least until I have to drive long distances.  Or in the rain.  Or dust.  :lol:  (well, the rain isn't really that bad but the dust certainly is) 

 

But hey, now I have heated seats in the D1 too, so it's a regular comfort-queen!

I suppose this settles the question regarding possible flaws in the broken axle.  I'm guessing that detroit puts a bunch of long term stress on those shafts.  They are probably plenty strong right out of the box but mile after mile of street driving stressing it around corners looks like took a toll on both sides.  I'll be sure to throw in an extra set of spares when I wheel with Don...
