Congrats Luis. Knew you were a shoe-in for this test. Make sure you do your research before venturing into HRO!

Cheers!

Congrats Luis!

Yes, go see Mark when you are ready to buy.

Check out HRO online first to see what you want, call Mark and ask if they have it in stock before visiting his store.

Mark will accept the rebate (no need for you to send any rebate coupon etc...) and also give you NCLR club discount).

Congrats again; I thought about this cram session in SF you posted, but decided to work on my RRC instead. Going to shot for mine next month.

Congrats again!

Lets see, any question on radios? umm, yes. all of them :) We REALLY need to put together a HAM radio work shop. To first of all bring the new certifications like myself up to par and second, to awaken the rest in following suit

Man you guys are killing me. I'll join to get me some HAM smarts, but must make myself hold off for a while longer. I need to recoup after getting all this new gear.

Yeah it's the equipment that'll kill me after looking at the catalog Ron brought to the BOD meeting at Gary's shop earlier this year. I'm now getting a Greg Davis rear bumper on top of the recovery gear and jerry cans purchased a couple weeks ago.

I was reading the AARL website about field day activities. After seeing Brian's setup in Oregon, I thought I'd throw up some other great field day rigs.
The 1963 Series was in Maine. The Pinzgauer wasn't identified, just some photos and non descriptive story. I also noticed that Yaesu is using a Defender in their advertisements.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Jim. Yes, that series is sweet. In all I only made six contacts that night but it was still fun. It just so happened Field Day was the same weekend as the trip otherwise I would have tried to hook up with a local club with a more elaborate setup.

So I found another great deal on a radio on eBay. A Kenwood HT-F6A Tri-band handheld for $152.00. Now I can get to Gary's repeaters and be able to get even more mobile.

I was in Reno this last weekend and found little activity on the repeaters there, but learned that the University operates it's own machine.
Only made 3 contacts on 2 meters over the weekend.

FYI I have 2 repeaters that are available for NCLR use in the Bay Area.

That sounds great Jim.

Do you know off hand if there is a repeater avail on the Rubicon trail?
